AliExpress introduced a product return service without explanation

A large Chinese market place AliExpress introduced a product return service without explanation with the aim of increasing sales in the categories of clothes, shoes and accessories, as well as increasing the average purchase receipt, which today stands at $ 9-10, RBC writes.

Starting August 23, Russian AliExpress users can resort to the unconditional return service within two weeks after receipt. To do this, the buyer must open a “dispute” (a special form for communication between the client and the seller on the site) through AliExpress support, receive an individual code and present it with the goods in the Russian Post branch. After the goods are delivered back, the money spent on them will be returned to the customer’s account. The return service is free for the consumer.

Previously, it was possible to return the goods to AliExpress only if it was clearly inconsistent with the declared characteristics, and the delivery of the goods back was paid by the client.

The service covers more than 10 million products. A refund is not provided in the case of the purchase of smartphones, electronic gadgets and their components, underwear and custom-made wedding dresses.

The return service is introduced by the online retailer in order to revive sales in the categories of clothes, shoes and accessories, since traditionally the percentage of return in these categories when buying goods online is quite high, and, according to experts, it reaches 60%. The inability to return the goods hindered the sale of these product categories on AliExpress. The new return scheme will help solve this problem, and will also contribute to the growth of the average check at the marketplace in Russia, due to the fact that Russian customers will more boldly order more expensive goods on the site.
