The German Ara Group has announced the creation of a new umbrella brand Salamander & friends, which will unite the retail chains of its subsidiaries Salamander Germany, Schuhhaus Klauser and Salamander International, writes Worldfootwear.com.
As part of the reorganization of the company's retail business, Thomas Kress has been appointed to the position of Managing Director of Salamander Germany and Klauser, one of the largest shoe retailers in Germany, replacing the former Heinrich Traude.
“Salamander needs to be consistently customer-centric and omnichannel. By combining channels in a vertical structure, access to end users and the company's unique relationship with them will be a critical success factor in the future, ”says Thomas Kress.
The German footwear and accessories brand Salamander has been wholly owned by the Ara Group since 2016. The Salamander retail network has 250 stores in Germany and abroad, in neighboring countries - Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, France and Russia. The company employs about 2100 people, of which 1350 are in Germany.
