Camper organized a discussion at the Spanish Design Festival with Elizabeth Manzi, Camper brand director, and world-renowned graphic designer Mark Farrow, specially invited to Camper Day.
Camper's collaboration with Mark Farrow was one of the main events this year for the brand. It was his studio that entrusted the design of the sail of the Camper yacht, which participates in the Volvo Ocean Race. Camper's participation in the Volvo Ocean Race is an ambitious project for the company, as Camper is the only small family business that participates in the regatta along with such giants as PUMA, DHL, IWC, Volvo, etc. The Emirates Team New Zealand team brings together experienced athletes who won more than once in sailing regattas.
Elizabeth Manzi has been working with Camper since 2008 of the year. Her professional experience is more than 15 years in international marketing in various fields, from cars to fashion brands. Elizabeth presented to the panelists Camper brand projects in various design areas. In addition to the original Camper shoe line that the brand’s designers come up with, Camper creates collections along with famous designers such as Veronique Brankino, Bernard Wilhelm, Maria Bless. Elizabeth also mentioned that every Camper store is an object of design.
Mark Farrow began his career back in the 1983 year, and the cover design for the Pet Shop Boys album in the mid-80s brought him popularity. Today, Mark is one of the most titled graphic designers in the world: he is the owner of 9 D&AD pencils, 2 Grammy nominations, 10 Music Week CAD nominations and 2 European Club of Creative Directors gold awards. Mark shared with the audience his impressions of the project with Camper, calling it a "dream project." He showed how he designed graphics for canvas size 30 on 20 meters. The idea was that when the yacht moved, the pattern should change, while remaining complete and logical. For Mark, work on the sail has become one of the most interesting and exciting of his entire career. This project was included in the annual list of “100 best things of the world” from GQ in 2010 year.
During Camper Day, the brand introduced the Ocean Race Collection (ORC), a special shoe collection created for the Volvo Ocean Race project. This is a professional shoe that combines all the necessary qualities for making long sailing regattas.
Today, CAMPER is a Spanish shoe company that maintains a stable level of tradition and quality and continues to develop its shoe line through innovation. Camper is sold in all the fashionable cities of the world, from Paris and Milan to Sydney and Tokyo.
