Converse sneaker brand continues its collaboration with the Japanese brand of street-style clothing Neighborhood. As a result of another collaboration, the appearance of the classic Converse sneakers models - Chuck Taylor All-Star '70 and One Star '74 - was updated.
The inspiration for creating a new collection was the idea of the functionality of street clothes for riding a motorcycle. “Like Converse, the Neighborhood brand follows the philosophy that clothing should be in line with its owner’s lifestyle,” says a Converse release.
The top of the Chuck Taylor All-Star '70 sneakers has leather and canvas inserts, which are protected by durable rubber and leather overlays, they are designed to protect shoes when riding a motorcycle.
For the One Star '74 model, Neighborhood designer Shinsuke Takizawa proposed a suede upper. The traditional Converse star on the All-Star '70 logo has turned into a pentagram, on the side of the sole of the sneakers there is the brand name Neighborhood. The insoles of both models are also decorated with logos.
The Converse and Neighborhood partnership began in the fall of 2013. As a result of the collaboration of the two brands, the updated Converse Jack Purcell Johnny Mid and Chuck Taylor All Star '70 models were produced.
The new Converse x Neighborhood collection will be available at converse.com, in Converse branded stores, and in some affiliate multi-brand stores.
