Russian retailers in the field of non-food products cooperate with the Dmitrovsky RTI plant, which deals with waste processing and compete in collecting used items (clothes and shoes), sending them for recycling.
So last year a program for the recycling of old shoes was launched by the shoe retail Rendez-Vous, this year the Detsky Mir chain is holding its second campaign for the recycling of textile and footwear waste and reports on the collection and dispatch of 4 tons of such waste to the Dmitrovskiy RTI plant. As a result of processing, the collected waste turns into small crumbs. Small crumb rubber is used to produce safe rubber surfaces for stadiums, sports tracks, courts and playgrounds.
Textile waste at the plant produces textile waste and rags, which are used in the manufacture of raw materials for various sports equipment, heat-insulating material of sandwich panels, a reinforcing component for the production of concrete and asphalt-concrete structures.
This is the second successful project of Detsky Mir jointly with the Dmitrov plant of RTI, aimed at protecting the environment and reducing waste from footwear and textile production. Once again, we made sure that our customers and employees of the company's central office adhere to the principles of reasonable consumption, ”says Yulia Polikarpova, head of external communications at Detsky Mir Group.
