Vietnam's shoe exports in the first half of the year reached $ 7,06 billion
The export of shoes from Vietnam in the first half of the 2017 year reached $ 7,06 billion. Export growth was 13,2% compared to the same period in 2016, ”worldfootwear.com notes referring to the Vietnam Leather Shoes and Handbag Association (Lefaso).
The main market for Vietnamese shoes is still the United States, with $ 2,45 billion worth of shoes coming into the country. North America is the largest importer of Vietnamese footwear, which receives 38,7% of all exports of footwear from Vietnam, another major buyer of Vietnamese footwear is the European Union, whose share in the export of footwear from Vietnam is 32%.
89,9% of Vietnamese shoes exported to North America comes to the USA. At the same time, 69% of the export of Vietnamese shoes to the EU falls on Germany, Belgium, Great Britain and the Netherlands.
After the United States, the largest importers of Vietnamese shoes are China ($ 22,5 million), Germany ($ 493,8 million), Belgium ($ 454,7 million), Japan ($ 364,1 million).
The growth in footwear exports from Vietnam is due to growth in most markets, and especially in the main areas. The export of Vietnamese shoes to China in the first half of 2017 increased by 30% compared to the same period in 2016.
