Westfaliki collections will be improved by a German chief designer

Obuv Rossii, which manages the Westfalika and Pedestrian chains, has signed a cooperation contract with the German designer Thomas Frank. Thomas Frank will become the chief designer of the company and will be responsible for the development and improvement of the Westfalica collections, as well as provide consulting services for the development of the Westfalica brand.

Thomas Frank graduated from the Higher Professional School for Shoe Designers in Pirmasens and resides in this city, which is considered the center of the German shoe industry. It was in Pirmasens that such famous brands as Salamander, Caprice, K&S were created. Thomas Frank has 20 years of experience as a designer. He started his career at Peter Kaiser, where he studied to be a shoemaker. Later he worked as a designer at the Ara shoe factory and as a development director for Gerli GmbH (Dockers brand).

“The Russian footwear market is developing rapidly; more and more international shoe brands enter our market. Therefore, it is important for us that our shoes meet modern European standards of quality, technology and design, - comments Anton Titov, director of Obuv Rossii. - We have attracted a German designer for cooperation, since the German design school meets the expectations of our customers. This is laconicism, rigor and emphasis on the classics. In addition, German footwear makers pay great attention to practicality, comfort of footwear and improvement of technology, which allows to achieve the maximum combination of beauty and comfort in footwear. "

The first shoe line, developed with the participation of Thomas Frank, will appear on the Westfalika network in the fall-winter of 2012.
