Modest Fashion Day in Kazan

This week, May 19-20, within the framework of the XIII International Economic Summit "Russia - the Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022", Modest Fashion Day will be held, organized by the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan in cooperation and with the support of the Council of Modest Fashion (COMF), # Markamarie, Modest Russia. This is a large-scale event that brings together designers, entrepreneurs and anyone interested in the so-called "modest fashion" from different countries. The program includes shows by modest fashion designers from Russia, the CIS countries and Southeast Asia, as well as a business program where experts will discuss the prospects and challenges of the segment in terms of communications, business and intercultural dialogue.

Modest Fashion Day will be headlined by Alena Akhmadullina and the AKHMADULLINA brand with a Middle East Capsule collection, created with the preferences of women focused on modest fashion, and a Spanish sustainable brand with roots from Uzbekistan Azukar Moreno. The main goal of its creator - Kamola Rustamova - is to create clothes that pass from generation to generation, with care for the environment, personifying the friendship of peoples and cultures. Also on the catwalk you will see collections of Buro Banu, Shelline, Al-Shiira, KUZMA, Bloombia, Sultan Saliev from Russia, Asheri from Kazakhstan, RESTU PRATIWI, ANARAS, LI SCARF from Indonesia.

According to Taliya Minullina, head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan, a member of the government of Tatarstan, “decent fashion or modest fashion is something more than just clothes for Muslim women. She is no longer tied to religion. Modesty is a timeless fashion."

Alena Akhmadullina, designer, founder of the AKHMADULLINA brand, said that for two years now she has been creating special collections that interpret the AKHMADULLINA style through key techniques typical of the “modest fashion” style.

According to Dilyara Sadrieva, international modest fashion expert and analyst, regional director of the Council of modest fashion (COMF) for Russia and the CIS, co-founder of ModestRussia, “modest fashion is, of course, a phenomenon in fashion and art, a communicative code, the transmission of certain values , first of all - traditional, it is a way of life and thinking. And at the same time, it is about inclusiveness, about sustainability and, of course, about a business that is worth billions of dollars around the world and is one of the fastest growing.” The expert is convinced that brands operating in the modest fashion segment may be of interest not only to the Muslim community, but are able to form communication with a wider audience that prefers simple modesty and closeness in clothing. Even today, consumers of modest fashion in Russia are not only Muslims.

Ozon currently has more than 330 Muslim clothing sellers, sales in March-April this year grew 7,8 times year-on-year in pieces (clothes, shoes and accessories).

It should be noted that according to the latest official data (for 2012), the number of Muslims in the Russian Federation is about 20 million people, Islam is the second largest religion after Orthodox Christianity in our country.

This week, on May 19-20, as part of the XIII International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022", Modest Fashion Day will be held, organized by the Investment…
