The company currently produces over 2 million pairs of shoes annually and is one of the leading players in the markets of Russia, Belarus and Latvia.
The company's specialists considered software products "1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management", Microsoft Dynamix AX, SAP ERP, as well as those produced by Oracle. The company was striving to select a solution with comprehensive functionality that could automate all business processes. In addition, the functional features of the solution had to take into account the requirements of the Belarusian legislation, and the system itself had to provide backup opportunities for changing and developing the business over the next 5-10 years.
The information system "Belvesta" that existed until now consisted of a number of programs that made it possible to automate the work of individual divisions. They were only partially integrated with each other, which led to distortion of management reporting and entailed a decrease in the quality of management. Moreover, the entire information complex in recent years could no longer cope with the volume of information and became one of the factors hindering business development for the company. Making the decision to create a new ERP-system, the management of Belvest sought to centralize the management of production, logistics and corporate retail network, to unite all divisions in a single information system operating in real time.
The direct work on the creation and implementation of SAP ERP in Belvest began in March 2012. Art.Net, which has experience in the successful implementation of SAP in several Russian and international companies, was invited to implement the project. At present, a prototype of the corporate information system is being set up and its functional testing is being carried out. At the subsequent stages of implementation, integration testing of the system, preparation and commissioning of the system will be carried out.
According to SAP, the project provides for the implementation of several SAP ERP functionalities (enterprise resource planning): financial management, fixed asset accounting, cost and profit accounting, production planning, material flow, sales, warehouse management, personnel management, and integration with other systems. In this case, first of all, functionalities are introduced that are critical for the work of the company.
“When planning the implementation of SAP ERP, we aimed to maintain business continuity. The flexibility of the implemented solution helped us to cope with this task. By sequentially automating individual business processes, we see how the structure of the company's new information system is being built. Already now I am confident in the correct choice in favor of SAP technologies: their scalability allows not only building a ready-to-use system, but also facilitates the implementation process, giving both individual users and company divisions the opportunity to switch to working with SAP ERP without additional costs ”, - said the head of the information technology department of the Belvest company Ruslan Pavlov.
The project on implementation of SAP ERP in Belvest is planned to be completed in January 2013. By this time, the new corporate information system will unite 100 users. In addition, Belvest is already planning to expand its information system with new elements that automate the processes of budgeting, enterprise retail network management (SAP for Retail) and business intelligence (SAP BI).
