Neon velvet - in the Giuseppe Zanotti collection fall'17

The new collection of the fall 2017 season of the luxury brand Giuseppe Zanotti shoes was presented at Milan Fashion Week Men's Fashion Week, which takes place in the Italian fashion capital from January 14 to 17.

Creating a new collection, designer Giuseppe Zanotti mixed the old and the new. Models appeared in the brand's collection, in which there are oriental motifs fashionable in Europe at the beginning of the 20th century and unexpected color combinations that are typical for today.

At the beginning of the 20th century, wealthy Europeans actively traveled to China and brought various exotic gizmos from there, hence the influence of Chinese culture on the European fashion of that time. It was this fact that the designer drew attention to. In his collection, east meets west and all this takes on a new look through the use of modern technology.

The culture of Ancient China is read in rich embroidery and tassels, which are present as shoe decorations. In addition, the brand demonstrated the use of many innovations in production technology - these are embossed patterns on velvet and suede, leather products and neoprene whose surface is as if dotted with rivets.

Black velvet in some models is complemented by contrasting color soles and shaded with precious stones. At the same time, the upper part of the shoe is made from traditional velvet, and the sole has the same velvet structure due to the coating with a special spray that is applied to the shoes manually.

The collection also contains models where, thanks to a spray applied on velvet, the designer has achieved the creation of fashionable neon shades. According to Zanotti, the idea of dyeing his shoes this way came to him while painting his Astin Martin car.

Forged gold buckles and Swarovski crystals are another highlight of the brand’s new collection. “The richer you are, the more gold you have, and if you are really rich you have diamonds,” Zanotti comments.
