Net-a-Porter online store launches the world's first social network, combining a place for communications and a trading platform.
Net-a-Porter will launch the new The Net Set smartphone app tomorrow. At first, the service can be used only by invitation.
All brands represented at Net-a-Porter will have their own profile, with which they can directly communicate with their customers. Using the application, users will also be able to buy luxury goods depicted in photographs, which are presented in the online store.
“Digital technologies do not stand still, just like us,” notes the founder of the online store Natalie Massenet. "We are delighted to present the world's first mobile social network where fashion fans and industry representatives can communicate with each other."
The launch of the project was announced the same day other brands including ASOS, Matches Fashion, Urban Outfitters and Selfridges announced that their official Instagram accounts would be available for shopping and integrated with LikeToKnow.It. This service, after "like" a certain photo, sends the user a link to the things they like, which can be bought online.
