The sneakers, released in the collaboration between New Balance and American actor Jaden Smith, who is the brand's ambassador, will appeal to vegans.
Jaden's own commitment to veganism and environmental awareness also made the NB for Jaden Smith Vision Racer free from animal materials.
The midsole is composed of 5% shredded EVA to help reduce potential waste.
The double layer insole and heel area are made of foam. The insole foam contains 6% castor oil, 15% recycled foams, 5% recycled rubber and 74% virgin polyurethane. At the same time, in the area of the heel, the foam consists of 98% of waste from the production of foam materials and rubber.
The upper is made of synthetic leather, which in turn is made from a polyester base covered with a thin layer of polyurethane, and is a vegan alternative to traditional leather. The thin polyester base in the upper synthetic leather is 60% recycled polyester.
The upper, lining, tongue and thin piping are made from 100% recycled polyester. The larger piping is made with 70% recycled polyester and 30% reflective fibers. The recycled polyester used for this model is sourced from household plastic waste, not petroleum products.
In Russia, the NB for Jaden Smith Vision Racer model is presented in black and white colors.
The NB for Jaden Smith Vision Racer sneakers will go on sale in New Balance retail stores on January 29 (Moscow - Tverskaya 17, Tsvetnoy Department Store. St. Petersburg - Ligovsky Propect) and will also be available on the New Balance brand website.
