Nike Goes Back to the Future

Nike is releasing a special series of sneakers that replicate the footwear of Marty McFly, the protagonist of Back to the Future, or rather, the pair he wears in the second part when the action is carried over to 2015. It is a high-top, self-lacing trainer in white with a bright green Nike logo on it. It is clear that real shoes do not know how to lace themselves up, but otherwise they are completely identical to those shown in the film. The series was named the 2011 Nike Mag. It is reported that 1500 pairs of such sneakers will be sold at a charity auction, and all proceeds are supposed to be transferred to the Parkinson's Disease Research Fund, established by the performer of the role of Marty McFly, Michael Jay Fox, who himself suffers from the disease. The auction is located on a separate web page on ebay. Five days before the auction, it was known that one of the exhibited pairs of shoes had already traded at $ 75 thousand, and the price of the cheapest was $ 2,55 thousand. Nike announced its intention to release sneakers based on the second part of the movie "Back to the Future" in 2008, at the same time a design patent was obtained. The newspaper "Kommersant" writes about this.
