Shoe networks renew consumer loans

The consumer lending service has revived on the Ukrainian credit market - now you can take out a loan not only for buying a car and household appliances, but also for meeting smaller consumer needs, writes Financial Review.

At the end of 2010, most of the proposals for the sale on credit came from shoe store chains. Now, in order to purchase shoes in the Intertop, Plato, Kidditop, Monarch, Respect and Carlo Pazolini networks, it is not necessary to fully pay the purchase price - you can get a loan and pay the price of the shoes for several months.

A sharp decline in shoe demand, which occurred against the backdrop of the 2009-2010 crisis, prompted such actions by shoe dealers. “If earlier, customers purchased a little more than three pairs of shoes every year, now about two pairs per family member. At the same time, as in the 2007 – 2008 years, shoes now account for an average of 3 – 4% of total expenditures of the population, ”says Elena Bilous, Commercial Director of Royal Shoes (Monarch TM). According to her, shoe sales declined by 30-40%. The introduction of consumer lending immediately had a positive effect on the situation - the average monthly number of shoe purchasers by installments almost immediately set at over 7 thousand pairs of shoes per month. Typically, each store sells 4 pairs per day on a lending program.
