The oldest Russian marketplace, which once started with book sales, and subsequently seriously expanded its range, this year was about to seriously compete with the leaders in the sale of fashion goods by the online stores Wildberries and Lamoda, retail.ru writes.
Ozon Business Development Director Konstantin Nosov said that this autumn clothing and footwear will take the first places in the list of categories of goods sold. “We are planning about tenfold growth over the next three years, namely in sales of clothing and footwear,” he said.
Ozon will open a separate warehouse for these categories of goods this year. Fitting rooms will appear at 500-600 Ozon pick-up points. According to Nosov, over 350 seller companies, including clothing and shoe companies, submitted applications to the Ozon website in two weeks in September.
Ozon currently offers 23 product categories. The site is visited by about 1 million 200 thousand unique users every day. Ozon.ru ships more than 65 thousand orders per day.
