The threshold of duty-free e-commerce is planned to be set at a rate of up to 500 euros, said the Minister of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukaev.
“If you look at the graph of online purchases, you can see that parcels worth over 500 euros, which is 2% of all shipments, account for about 30% of the value. It is believed that business starts beyond this line. And it is completely incomprehensible why he should be exempted from customs duties if he receives goods from abroad by mail, ”Ulyukaev explained.
He also emphasized that parcels worth up to 500 euros are purchased by people for personal purposes and will not be taxed.
We will remind that earlier presidential aide Andrei Belousov said that the government had agreed on the threshold for duty-free internet commerce, which turned out to be much higher than the average cost of a parcel of 200-250 euros.
