Major Portuguese sole manufacturer Vapesol will invest 2 million euros to launch a factory to produce EVA soles. The capacity of the enterprise is designed to produce 4000 EVA soles per day. The number of employees at the new production will be 44 people, writes Worldfootwear.com
“In recent years, we have seen a significant increase in demand for EVA soles. When the pandemic began, which still affects us today, we decided to move towards the diversification of our assortment. EVA soles are all the rage and major global brands are increasingly using this type of sole to design their shoe collections,” comments Vapesol CEO Desio Pereira. According to him, EVA soles are in demand due to their lightness, flexibility, ability to create comfort and attractive design, all of which make EVA a material with high potential for development in the footwear industry.
In the past five years, Vapesol has invested several million euros in technology and innovation, certification and sustainability. For example, the company purchased 10 new state-of-the-art machines for molding tricolor TPR/TPU soles and completely changed the composition of the samples. However, the largest investment has been made in the production of EVA soles.
