In March 2021, the demand for footwear in Russia was lower than last year's figure. At the same time, the average bill in the shoe retail has increased due to the rise in prices, it follows from the data of the IT-company "Evotor".
According to the It-company "Evotor", the average check of Russian shoe stores in March 2021 increased by 22%, compared to the same period in 2020 and amounted to 2426 rubles. The average number of shoe purchases over the year decreased by 15%.
In Moscow and St. Petersburg, the demand for footwear, on the contrary, exceeded the last year's. In the capital's shoe stores, the average number of purchases per year increased by 20%. The average check exceeded last year's by 7% and amounted to 4812 rubles.
In shoe stores in St. Petersburg, the number of purchases increased by 41% compared to the previous year. The average check for the year did not change and amounted to 2703 rubles.
The growth in the average check for clothing and footwear in retail is due to the general rise in prices.
