Raf Simons is closing his own brand

Belgian designer Raf Simons, who gave the fashion world the iconic Ozweego sneaker he co-designed with adidas, is shutting down his own brand after 27 years. Raf Simons Spring-Summer 2023 collection will be the last brand lineYes.

“I don't have enough words to express how proud I am of everything we have achieved. I am grateful for the incredible support from my team, my staff, the press and customers, my friends and family, and our dedicated fans and loyal followers. Thank you all for believing in our vision and in me,” said the designer.

The Belgian designer has had a significant influence on sneaker design. In collaboration with adidas, he created several world hits, including the iconic Ozweego. He also released his own shoe line as part of the RUNNER collection of the same name. The footwear range includes everything from heeled boots to shoes and sneakers.

At the same time, in the spring-summer 2022 season, Raf Simons surprised the fashion world by presenting his show, in which there was no place for sports-style shoes, but there were models closer to the classics - boots and shoes in brown and black. Someone even saw in this the threshold of the sunset of the sneaker era. But instead of running out of fashion, Raf Simons has sadly come to an end. One can only guess about the reasons for the brand's closure, but it is clear that many independent brands have recently faced serious economic difficulties.
