According to the Federal State Statistics Service, retail sales in Russia in comparable prices accelerated growth in June to 3,5% compared to June 2012, while compared to May it grew by 1,9%.
In absolute figures, the retail turnover in Russia in June amounted to 1,933 trillion rubles, according to the operational report of the statistical department (in May - 1,892 trillion rubles). The acceleration in growth came after a significant slowdown in May (to 2,9%).
In the first half of 2013, the retail trade turnover grew by 3,7% over the same period in 2012. Last year, in the first six months, retail grew much faster - by 7,7% in annual terms.
The Ministry of Economic Development predicts a smaller growth in retail trade turnover this year than in the past: at the level of 4,3% versus 5,9% in 2012. The forecast was cut in April from the previously planned 5,4%.
