The Russian fashion market remained at the 2017 level of the year

Sales of clothing, footwear and accessories in 2018 in monetary terms remained at the level of the previous year, - the merchant writes with reference to the Fashion Consulting Group research. According to the results of 2018, the volume of the Russian market in monetary terms will amount to about 2,36 trillion rubles, which corresponds to the last year's level.

In addition, due to lower incomes of the population in the fashion market, experts point to a continuing trend of redistribution of financial flows - consumers who previously purchased clothes and shoes of the “medium plus” or premium category are moving to the lower price segment or buying goods at sales and at a discount centers.

Particularly in the footwear segment, sales have been increasing at retail chain Zenden, which offers shoes at affordable prices. “If in 2017 the chain's revenue amounted to 23,05 billion rubles, then by the end of 2018, 27 billion rubles are expected,” Alexander Milikh, representative of the shoe retailer Zenden, cites the figures.

This trend will continue in the 2019 year, analysts at Fashion Consulting Group predict.

The active development of the Russian retail of the fashion segment is also noted. In 2018, stores of the Russian brands LN Family, I am studio, 12 Storeyz, Terekhov Girl, Akhmadullina Dreams appeared on the market. New domestic brands of clothes, shoes and accessories are appearing.
