The American company GTX Group, on the day of the fight against Alzheimer's disease, September 21, announced the delivery of the first 3000 GPS navigators to its partner in the shoe sector, Aeterex.
Globally, about 106 million people suffer from this disease. According to the WHO, about 60% of those patients who left home are lost (loss of memory and orientation in space is one of the characteristic signs of Alzheimer's disease). Half of that 60% die within 24 hours.
A GPS navigator built into the shoes can make it easier to care for patients, as their relatives and guardians will always know where their ward is.
Retail sales will begin in mid-October; retail prices for shoes will be around $ 300 per pair. Aetrex GPS Shoes will be sold through sites www.aetrex.com, www.gpsshoe.com, www.foot.com и www.gtxcorp.com.
