The head of the Association of Italian Manufacturers (Assocalzaturifici), Ciro Badon, who was elected chairman of the organization in June 2019, resigned on July 26, citing both personal and professional reasons.
According to the Assocalzaturifici, Mr. Badon "resigned from his post for personal and professional reasons as a result of his workload at his company, which prevents him from continuing to guarantee continued availability to the association." Elected to this position on 26 June 2019, succeeding Annarita Pilotti, he will serve as Acting Chairman until June 2023.
Born in Padua, Mr. Badon joined the De Robert family shoe business in 1976, becoming its president in 1986. In the past, he has also served as Vice President of Assocalzaturifici, President of the Maestri Calzaturieri del Brenta Consortium and President of ACRiB (Brenta Riviera Footwear Association).
