Counterfeiters can now be fined a million rubles

Up to a million rubles a fine can now be paid by a store for the sale of counterfeit goods, that is, counterfeit goods, realizing that its quality does not meet the requirements of technical regulations. An individual entrepreneur in this case may be fined 40 thousand rubles.

The document on the new rules (the law amending the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) is published in the Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

The Code of Administrative Offenses introduced several fines and penalties for the sale of counterfeit products. First, low fines will be imposed on manufacturers and sellers of counterfeit products - up to 10 thousand for individual entrepreneurs and up to 30 thousand - for legal entities. However, if after checking the oversight bodies they do not suspend their criminal activity - the production and sale of counterfeit products, then for individuals the fine will increase to 40 thousand rubles, and for legal entities to half a million.

If the violators come across again, then they will be confiscated not only the goods, but also the equipment on which it was produced, or the suspension of the activities of a commercial or industrial enterprise for up to three months. The fine for legal entities can reach up to a million. As for counterfeiting (fake well-known brands), the law is harsh here, the punishment is up to 6 years in prison.
