In Belarus, introduced duties on the export of leather raw materials

To prevent a shortage of leather raw materials in Belarus, new rates of export customs duties have been established for it. The corresponding order was signed by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on February 1. The concern "Bellegprom" informs about it.

The document provides for rates at the level applicable in the Russian Federation: for the export of leather raw materials of cattle and pork leathers in the amount of 500 euros per 1 ton, as well as for tanned leathers in the amount of 10%, but not less than 90 euros for 1 ton. The initiative to accept new bets belonged to Bellegprom concern. This measure of tariff regulation is not prohibitive, but it is restrictive in relation to the leather stock of Belarusian stocks and meets the common interests of harmonizing export duties in Russia and curbing the export of leather raw materials.

The new rates will provide additional revenues to the budget and equal conditions for the price factor, as a result of which meat-processing organizations and procurers of consumer cooperatives will be equally interested in the supply of leather raw materials to the domestic and foreign markets. In addition, the developers are confident that the document will provide Belarusian tanneries with high-quality raw materials, which will help to increase the utilization of their production capacities, reduce the cost of products and make a profit.
