In 2010, compared to 2009, imports of shoes increased in Belarus. This was reported by the deputy chairman of the concern "Bellegprom" Lyudmila Tyaglova. This trend is associated with the creation from January 1, 2010 of the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. Since that time, import duties on shoes have decreased compared to duties previously established in Belarus. “Three countries coordinated their positions with duties due to the fact that the shoe industry was poorly developed in Kazakhstan and there was zero import customs duty, in Russia - 10%, in Belarus - 15%. Now for all countries there is a single customs rate of 10%, ”L. Tyaglova explained. At the same time, she noted that in 2010, shoe enterprises, which are part of the concern, produced about 12 million pairs of shoes, which is 3 million pairs more than in 2009.
