Despite the announced plans to hold a fashion show of the new Haute Couture collection outside the walls of the Parisian Grand Palais, which is traditional for the brand, the pandemic forced Chanel to maintain its traditions and remain faithful to the place where Karl Lagerfeld represented the brand's collection for decades.
Under quarantine conditions, Chanel held a show of the spring-summer '21 couture collection in the format of a private show, the guests of which were famous actress friends of the brand - Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Vanessa Paradis and her daughter Lily-Rose Depp, as well as Alma Jodorowski, Joanne Preiss and Izig Higelin.
The collection of the brand is made in the traditions of the Chanel house. It features classics - from tweed suits with a skirt or trousers to floral accents, mostly in black and white. The final image of the fashion show was a wedding dress, which has also been an integral part of the Haute Couture show for several years.
The shoes also looked just as traditional - the classic two-tone Mary-Jane double-strap shoes and black and white ankle boots.
