The shopping center "Nevsky Center", located in the center of St. Petersburg, at the intersection of Nevsky Prospekt with Vosstaniya Street, opposite the Moskovsky Railway Station, has carried out a seasonal renovation of its windows - in cooperation with the Russian Museum, it has implemented the concept of "New Year in the Style of Russian Avant-garde". The inspiration for the winter window dressing was the famous works of artists presented in the Russian Museum.
New Year's windows at Nevsky this winter are dedicated to one of the brightest phenomena in world art - the Russian avant-garde.
Looking at the updated windows, visitors to the Nevsky Center shopping center will be able to catch allusions to the famous Suprematist works of Kazimir Malevich, his students and followers - Nikolai Suetin and Olga Rozanova, as well as to the masterpieces of Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, an artist who occupies a special place in Russian art of the XNUMXth century ...
A number of tenants of the shopping center also took part in the art installation. Showcases for Stockmann, Azbuka Vkusa and Cook House are decorated using colors and shapes typical of the Russian avant-garde. The windows of the official store of FC Zenit are decorated in the aesthetics of Suprematism.
“While developing the concept, we wanted to bring into our project not only an extraordinary and festive visual series, but also a cognitive beginning. For this purpose, a QR code is placed in 13 showcases leading to the "Events" section of the Russian Museum website.
It contains information about the project, including a story about the originality of avant-garde art, as well as images of masterpieces, on the basis of which the design solutions for showcases and annotations to them were created, ”comments Maria Dmitrenko, project curator, head of the information and communication service of the Russian Museum.
“To convey the spirit of the classic New Year through an avant-garde prism, we took as a basis the famous canvases of famous artists and rethought them with the help of New Year's symbols familiar to visitors. We used Christmas trees and Christmas balls, confetti and candies that create a festive mood, adding a lot of shiny and mirror materials to the New Year's palette - glitter, sparkles, neon and composite, ”said Marina Smetanina, head of the marketing department of the Nevsky Center shopping center.
You can evaluate a new interpretation of artistic classics from the perspective of modern solutions until February in the windows of the Nevsky Center shopping mall on Nevsky Prospekt and Vosstaniya Street.
