On July 1, 2020, the law on mandatory labeling of shoes in Russia began to operate. From this date on, the manufacture, import, wholesale and retail sale of shoes without marking is prohibited.
Import of goods purchased before July 1, 2020 is possible without labeling until August 1, 2020. Such products must be marked strictly before August 1, 2020. Residues produced or acquired before July 1 may be marked until September 1 only if there is evidence of the acquisition period. From January 1, 2021, unmarked goods of light industry will also be banned, and unsold balances must be marked before February 1.
Simultaneously with the entry into force of the ban on the circulation of unmarked footwear, the ban on the use of special tax regimes (patent and UTII) by retail operators selling goods that are subject to mandatory labeling comes into force. Stores selling fur products, footwear and clothing also fall under this ban.
