Yulmart will become a marketplace for brands of clothing, shoes and accessories
The Yulmart online store, formerly known as a large retailer of household appliances and electronics, is going to add clothing, footwear and cosmetics to its main product categories. Following the scheme of work of Amazon and Alibaba Group, Yulmart will become an aggregator platform for fashion offers. The first partners will be the lingerie brands Wild Orchid, Bustier and Defile, online shoe retailer Obuv.com and perfume and cosmetic chains Rive Gauche and Smile Rainbow.
“A good Internet industry has developed in Russia,” explained Dmitry Kostygin, co-owner and chairman of the board of directors of Yulmart, “its Yandex search engine, Avito's largest bulletin board, Mail.ru mail service, but there are no two important components: a really large online - retailer - after all, Yulmart has not yet grown to the level of Chinese or Indian stores.
