Boxer shoes return to Russia
After ten years of absence on the Russian market, the Greek Boxer shoe brand will be presented in Moscow at the February Euro Shoes Premiere Collection exhibition. The owners of the brand - the family company Fidas - have found a distribution partner in Russia and are preparing a new winter collection of shoes taking into account the requirements of the Russian climate.
General Director of Fidas Panayiotis Dais is confident that the brand that was present in Russia in Soviet times and which exported up to 150 thousand pairs of shoes to our country in the zero years was not forgotten in the Russian market.
In the 2000's, the Greek company was forced to curtail sales in Russia due to the fact that the distribution partner who was promoting the Boxer brand in the Russian market stopped the business. Today, with the advent of a new partner who is ready to promote Boxer shoes in Russia, Fidas decided to return to the Russian market in order to develop wholesale sales and present Boxer shoes in multi-brand retail.
Designers of the brand adapt the Boxer winter collection to the needs of the Russian market, releasing winter models of shoes using natural fur. In addition, it is planned to launch Boxer online store in Russia during the year.
The history of the Greek shoe company “Fidas” began in 1919, when the founder of the company, Janis Fidas, began to manually manufacture shoes in the city of Kalamata in southern Greece. He laid the foundation for the family business. More than one generation of the Fidas family was engaged in sewing shoes, but the first shoe factory of the family enterprise was built in 1961 in Athens. In 1968, the joint-stock company “D. I. Fidas AK ".
The company was actively developing and at the end of the 80-ies turned into the largest enterprise of the Greek shoe industry. Two factories produced up to 5000 pairs of shoes per day. About 80% of shoes were exported to Germany, Russia, the UK. In 2006, Fidas production was included in the European program of investments in industrial development, under which 10 million euros were allocated for the modernization of the enterprise, the expansion of the area and the purchase of equipment.
Currently, the production of Fidas covers an area of 11 thousand square meters. meters. The factory is equipped with five independent lines and is capable of producing up to 8,5 thousand pairs of shoes per day of various styles. The Boxer brand belongs to the mid-price category. The brand’s collection includes casual men's and women's shoes made of high quality genuine leather. An international team of designers is working on creating models of comfortable and stylish shoes that are ideal for every day.
