Alibaba defended the right to alibaba.ru domain

The Supreme Court of Russia did not investigate the Alibaba case and returned the complaint to the applicant because of the unpaid state duty.

Holmrook Ltd filed a complaint with the RF Armed Forces in connection with the decision of a lower court on the deprivation of rights to the Alibaba and Alibaba trademarks, including the alibaba.ru domain at the suit of the largest Chinese Internet retailer.

The court explained that the complaint was returned to Holmrook Ltd due to the fact that the company did not pay the corresponding state duty. However, the possibility of repeated appeal to the court is not ruled out.

In turn, in its lawsuit Alibaba insisted on the use of the same name trademark. The company defended the right to intellectual property, and now from the address alibaba.ru will also be redirected to the main domain alibaba.com, where you can directly order goods.
