Italian luxury brand Bottega Veneta, part of the Kering group, has hired Turkish designer and artist Safa Sahin as a shoe design consultant.
Safa Saheen, who has been Balmain's Chief Sneaker Designer since 2019, shared on his Instagram blog that he is embarking on a "new creative journey" and will support the creative work of Kering's creative director Mathieu Blazy, who has been shaping Bottega's style since November 2021. Veneta.
The Turkish designer curates futuristic and popular Balmain footwear such as the Unicorn sneaker recently unveiled by French Maison creative director Olivier Rousteing. Before joining Balmain, Safa Saheen worked with Nike for three years.
Turkish designer Safa Sahin graduated from design school with a specialization in footwear and also studied art in Italy and Turkey early in his career. He launched his own shoe brand between 2013 and 2016 and subsequently joined the ranks of Nike shoe designers.
