Clarks has tapped Japan's The Pokémon Company franchise for a shoe collection, reimagining one of its popular Torhill Hi silhouettes for adults.
The collection is inspired by four Pokemon characters: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and Pikachu. Each Torhill Hi silhouette is crafted from premium textured suede and features retro pixel graphics on the tongue in varying shades of green, orange, blue and yellow, reflecting the design tones of each character.
To identify each model as its own, the shoes' heel tabs are numbered. Other design details include a ridged, non-slip outsole, signature keychains and removable leather Contour Cushion insoles.
It is no coincidence that the British brand remembered the heroes of computer games, anime and furry children's toys of the late 90s; generation Y, people who are now between thirty and forty, grew up on them, and who, apparently, are the core of its target audience.
The Clarks x Pokémon Torhill Hi collection will be available online and in select UK brand stores from December 8th.
