Kim Jones has been appointed creative director of clothing and accessories for the Dior Homme men's line and will present his first collection in this capacity in June.
Jones begins work at Dior on April 1. Kim Jones replaced Dior Home with designer Chris Van Ash, who served as creative director of Dior Home for 11 years. It is assumed that Van Ash will take a new position in the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
Inviting Jones to the position of creative director of Dior Homme is the first big step by Pietro Beccari, who six weeks ago took over as head and CEO of Christian Dior Couture.
“I am delighted to welcome Kim Jones, with whom I had previous experience working with Louis Vuitton,” Beccari said. - I admire his creative vision, which combines his own view of modern culture and his understanding of the specific codes and heritage of the house. I’m sure of his ability to recreate his world as part of the Dior Fashion House and present an elegant and completely modern wardrobe for Dior Homme. ”
Kim jones Been creative director of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton since 2011. It was under his leadership that the famous collaboration with Supreme, as well as with the British conceptual artists Jake and Dinos Chapman, was launched. As we wrote earlier, in January 2018 Mr. Jones resigned from Louis Vuitton.
