JD.com launches website in Russian

One of the largest Chinese Internet retailers, Jingdong (JD.com), is launching a website in Russian. Thus, it will compete with Aliexpress, which is rapidly gaining popularity in Russia.

Jingdong intends to invest at least 100 million yuan ($ 16 million) in advertising.

In May 2015, Jingdong signed a cooperation agreement with the Russian express delivery operator SPSR Express. The infrastructure of this courier service consists of 9 distribution centers, 200 branches and representative offices in Russian cities, the company serves over 6000 cities and towns throughout the country. Cooperation of the two parties will allow the delivery of goods from Guangzhou to Russia in 10 hours, and then within two days - to consumers.
