How girls behave in online stores

A survey conducted by Lady Mail.Ru showed how many percent of girls shop online, which categories of products they purchase most often, and for what reasons they choose online shopping. In addition, the researchers found out what barriers impede the purchase of things over the Internet.

According to the survey, 67% of respondents at least once made online purchases. The main reasons why girls buy clothes, shoes or accessories on the Internet are time savings (60%) and money (34%), as well as a richer assortment compared to offline stores (35%).

93% of those who ever bought things online ordered clothes, 78% - accessories and 49% - shoes. Girls who purchase clothes on the Internet, most often choose dresses, those who buy accessories - bags. In online shoe stores and specialized sections, users mostly go to buy boots. Among Russian online stores, respondents prefer Wildberries.ru (26% of the vote), among foreign stores --abay (29% of the vote).

Every fifth girl who has never bought things through the Internet is not going to do this in the future. Also interesting are the reasons on which the unwillingness to try online shopping is based. So, most respondents fear that the size will not fit (66%), the goods will be of inadequate quality (59%) or it will be difficult to return (38%).

Lady Mail.Ru’s project also found out whether girls plan to cut spending on shopping this year. According to the survey, almost half of the users (42%) are going to spend less on buying clothes, shoes or accessories online; 44% of respondents are going to reduce expenses on purchases in offline stores Despite the fact that users note the opportunity to save money when making purchases on the Internet, spending on purchases will decrease evenly in both offline and online stores.
