The Kari shoe store chain was accused of violating the Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights and the Rules for the sale of certain types of goods during a routine inspection by the Office of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Rights in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In addition to the lack of shipping documentation and available information on the product labeling about the manufacturer, the composition of the raw materials, the production date and the materials from which the products were made, there was a violation in the design of cash receipts.
The retailer included in the checks the conditions exempting him from liability for the fulfillment of the warranty obligations, if the shoe had mechanical damage and defects that arose as a result of the buyer not observing the conditions for the care, operation and storage of the shoe. To top it off, Kari deprived its customers of the right to exchange or return shoes if they were incorrectly selected for the size, completeness, color, style identified during the wear.
