The number of Adidas employees in Russia and the CIS for the year decreased by a quarter

The German manufacturer of shoes and sports equipment, the company Adidas has reduced the number of its employees in Russia and the CIS by 26%, writes RNS with reference to the financial statements of the group.

The total number of Adidas employees as of December 31 of December 2017 was 56,89 thousand people, of which in Russia and the CIS - 16% (9,1 thousand people). A year earlier, the Adidas staff was 58,9 thousand people, of which 21% (12,37 thousand people) worked in Russia and the CIS.

Thus, the staff in the CIS decreased over the year by approximately 3,27 thousand people, or by 26,4%.

In October, it was reported that the company plans to close about 200 of its stores in Russia. In 2017, Adidas sales in the Russian market declined by 3% to 660 million euros.
