The goal of the project is to create a modern full-cycle shoe production in the city of Cherkessk. The shoe factory will include: a cutting and sewing workshop, an assembly plant, and a workshop for the production of shoe bottoms. The project involves the purchase, repair and equipping of a building with an area of 8 thousand square meters. m and a phased launch of production with full capacity in 4 years. The footwear will be sold in the main shoe chain of Obuv Rossii, the Westfalika chain, which has more than 160 stores in 56 cities of Russia.

The Obuv Rossii company is actively developing the footwear market of the Volga Federal District, the central part of Russia, and in the future plans to enter the southern regions. By 2015, the company will sell over 2 million pairs of shoes per year. The factory in Cherkessk will produce 50% of this volume and cover the needs of Obuv Rossii for footwear in the central and southern regions of Russia. Production in Novosibirsk will be provided by the Urals, Siberia and the Far East.
The Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia is a promising site for a shoe factory, since it is located close to the main Russian production of raw materials for shoes, which are located in the Krasnodar Territory, Rostov-on-Don, Ryazan. In addition, the republic has a professional base for creating a shoe factory: in this territory, craft shoe shops have historically developed; during the USSR period a large shoe factory worked in Cherkessk. 600 jobs will be created at the new shoe factory.
