Obuv Rossii launched its data center

Obuv Rossii GC completed the launch of its own data center.

“This is an integrated hardware and software system that provides high performance, reliability, fault tolerance, redundancy and high availability for IT services,” the press service of the company said.

Server and network equipment necessary for data storage and processing is located in a specialized room and is provided with backup power supply (UPS, diesel generator) and backup communication channels.

“We are now opening 100 stores a year, - the volume of processed information and the number of operations are constantly growing, in the very near future the total volume of 1C databases will exceed 1TB. It is much more convenient, efficient and faster to manage all business processes if there is a single information center, ”explains Dmitry Karpenko, IT Director of Obuv Rossii Group of Companies.

“In addition, many of our company's projects, such as selling by installments and issuing cash loans, operate online and with a central database located in Novosibirsk, and therefore require a 24/7/365 access level,” he adds.

According to Karpenko, its own data center will allow the company not to depend on malfunctioning providers and power outages.

“In general, we expect that as a result of the implementation of the data center, the quality of service for our customers will improve,” he says.

Investments in the project, taking into account the further expansion of the data center's capacities, will amount to 1,5 million dollars.
