Sales of the Danish shoe manufacturer Ecco in Russia over the last 2 of the year have declined by 50% due to the weakening ruble and rising cost of production, as well as a decrease in the purchasing power of Russians. At the same time, the total revenue of the global company in 2015 increased by 7,4% to 1,3 billion euros. Problems in the Russian market have had and continue to have a serious impact on the company's profit, but it has been reduced by increasing production efficiency, logistics and focusing on operating costs, as well as by increasing consumer spending in Europe and strong growth in Asian countries. Despite the difficulties, Ecco does not intend to leave the Russian market, since the company's positions in it are considered very strong.
