Prices for Russian-made shoes in the near future will rise by at least 25%, despite a reduction in its production and a decrease in sales, said the head of the National Shoe Union, Natalia Demidova. First of all, the lack of additional subsidies, subsidies and prospects for import substitution in the light and footwear industry affects pricing, and secondly, the narrow range of shoes on the Russian market is mainly casual shoes for men, almost no heels and specialized sports shoes - there are simply no modern technologies for its manufacture. Thirdly, shoe products manufactured in Russia comprise 70–80% of imported components. In this regard, Russian footwear in stores is only 10-15%, and its main supplies are from Southeast Asia, Turkey, as well as from Germany and Italy.
