Scientists from the University of New York have found that flip-flops are the most dangerous shoes - they are more harmful than high-heeled shoes. “The fact is that slippers cannot provide support for the arch of the foot, and they also do not adequately cover the foot," says physiology professor Mike O'Neill. "When a person wears slippers, he automatically squeezes his toes in order to keep location. This effect leads to squeezing of a certain muscle group and becomes one of the causes of tension in the ankles, hips, legs and back. In addition, fans of such shoes run the risk of earning plantar fasciitis, as well as problems associated with the sphere of neuralgia. It is also easier to get injured in slippers - most often it is a fractured fingers and broken nails, cuts and various diseases of an infectious nature. The magazine "Ogonyok" writes about this.
