“Stephane Kelian creates shoes for every occasion, from walking to dinner. Rubber boots and leather boots, ankle boots and stiletto heels, as well as lightweight sneakers made of leather and specially treated cotton, ”the company said.
In 1960, in the town of Burg de Peage, two brothers, George and Gerard Keloglanyan, founded the production of men's shoes. In 1974, they were joined by the younger brother Stefan, whose name gave the name to the brand Stephane Kelian (the Armenian name was reduced for harmony).
With the advent of Stefan, the design of Kelian shoes completely changed, and three years later the first women's collection appeared. Among the bold and extraordinary models, the most famous were woven leather shoes. Signature weaving Stephane Keliane is still used in brand collections.
In 1985, Stephane Kelian entered the stock exchange listing, acquired a new factory, and began developing its distribution network in France and abroad. Kelian also acquired the Mosquitos trendy youth line, which completed the company's portfolio. In the same period, a license was signed with Kenzo and Stephane Kelian began cooperation with the largest creators: JP Gautier, Issey Miyake, Montana.
In 2006, Alan Dumenil, president of Smalto, who bought the brand at the end of 2002, announced his decision to terminate the brand. However, the French marched in protest against the closure of production. As a result, the company did not close, but became the property of the French shoe giant Royer Group (its portfolio of brands includes more than 30 brands of different price segments and categories - from sports Converse to children's MOD8, the luxury direction in shoes is represented by another brand - Charles Jourdan).
In Russia, the Stephane Kelian brand is already represented in the Randevu, PARAD and Crocus City shopping centers.
