The design of the new New Balance 57/40 NB model, created in collaboration with artist Joshua Vaidsaom, features flecks - traces of paint that are reminiscent of the artist's youth and passion for graffiti.
Modeled by New Balance and artist Joshua Vides, Joshua's story of his first pair of New Balance sneakers was inspired by his father. It was a 574s model. “The shoes were incredibly comfortable, so I wore them when I painted. By the time the sneakers were finally worn out, they were completely covered with dirt and paint - traces of my nightly adventures. Then, at night, I painted graffiti, and I gained fame thanks to my work in black and white style. In this collection, I wanted to combine both of these worlds in every piece,” says Joshua.
So for the model 57/40 NB x Joshua Vides, the designers chose a combination of diverse textures made of genuine suede leather and beige textiles with a highlighted NB logo in the artist's corporate identity and complemented them with contrasting splashes of black paint. The model is completed with a yellowish EVA midsole and a transparent outsole.
