Production of galoshes is growing in Russia
In the context of import substitution, the production of galoshes is growing in Russia. According to statistics from the operator of the state footwear labeling system “Honest Sign”, over two months of 2024, more than 1,6 million pairs of galoshes were produced in Russia, which is 12% more than during the same period in 2023.
The growth of domestic production of galoshes is gradually compensating for the reduction in imports of these products. According to the Honest Sign system, in January-February 2024, 1,8 million pairs of galoshes entered the country’s market - this is 16% less than in the same period in 2023, when 2,2 million pieces were put into circulation. The average price for galoshes in January of this year was 485 rubles per pair, and in February it decreased by 10%, reaching 435 rubles. On the Ozon marketplace, prices for a pair of galoshes from the Russian manufacturer “Mir Galosh” reach up to 2500 rubles per pair.
