Unichel plans to allocate 100 million rubles for technical re-equipment

Unichel, the Russian shoe manufacturer, plans to invest 100 million rubles in the technical re-equipment of production by the end of the year.

As stated in the company's press release, investment in modernization of production is not reduced, the same amount was directed to the technical re-equipment of the enterprise in 2017. In the first quarter of 2018, the company commissioned two automated lines for the production of shoes by direct casting, with a capacity of 1700 pairs of shoes per day. According to Unichel representatives, the new lines will allow the company to increase the production of injection molded assortment with soles made of polyurethane, namely, such shoes the company recorded an increased demand. “Buyers are attracted by the lightness and durability of the models, as well as the affordable price, which plays a key role in the context of a decrease in real incomes and purchasing power,” the company said.

According to the company's results report for the first quarter of 2018, the company produced 749 pairs of shoes from January to March. Of these, 463% are men's assortment, 20% are women's, the rest is preschool, school and teenage lines. The company's revenue in the first quarter of 29 amounted to 2018 million rubles. In total, the factory plans to produce 883 million pairs by the end of the year; in 5, the production volume of Unicel amounted to 3,1 million pairs.

In the reporting period, Unichel continued to develop its retail network. Since the beginning of 2018, fourteen new stores have been opened, three of which are in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The plans for the end of the year - the opening of 40 new shoe stores. At the end of last year, the company, which is still confidently developing its presence in the Ural-Siberian direction, began to take its first steps towards the southern regions. This year, Unichel continues to follow its course: stores of the Ural brand have opened in Volgograd, Astrakhan, Elista, cities of the Volga region and others.


JSC Unichel Shoe Firm is the largest light industry enterprise in Russia. It includes three factories with its own shoe shop. The company produces shoes mainly from genuine leather. The volume of production in the 2017 year is 3,5 million pairs. The retail chain "Unichel" combines about 600 branded stores in Russia and Kazakhstan.
