The volume of online trading sales in Russia in January-September 2023 increased by 23% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 4,3 trillion rubles, TASS reports citing the press service of the Association of Internet Trade Companies (AKIT).
2,8% of the total volume of online sales (117 billion rubles) comes from cross-border trade, the share of sales of Russian online trading companies amounted to 97,2% (4,1 trillion rubles). The share of online trading in total retail sales is 12,5%, the same figure a year ago was 11%.
The leader in the ranking of online sales categories are digital and household appliances, accounting for 18,9% of total online sales. Over nine months, Russian consumers spent 812,6 billion rubles online on goods in this category. The top five most popular categories of online sales include furniture and household goods (720 billion rubles, 16,7%), clothing and footwear (661 billion rubles, 15,3%), food 528 billion rubles, 12,2%) , products for beauty and health (349 billion rubles, 8,1%).
