Supporting young Russian designers and their promotion on the most prestigious catwalks in Europe - this is the mission of the international competition for designers of footwear and accessories Lineapelle Award. The Russian semi-final of the competition was held on February 17-19 during the international fair "Leather - Footwear - Fur - Technology". The competition was organized by the Industrial Footwear Fashion Center "Design-Shoes" and JSC "Roslegprom" in cooperation with the Fashion Trends Committee LineaPelle (Italy).
38 collections of young Russian designers from six educational institutions were announced at the Lineapelle Award Russia competition. The work of the contestants was evaluated by an international jury chaired by Ms. Fabiana Orlandi, trade and education expert at UNIC (Italian Leatherworkers Association) and LINEAPELLE Fashion Trends Committee. The main criterion for evaluating the collections of young designers was innovativeness in technology, design and materials.
In accordance with these criteria, the places on the podium were distributed as follows.
First place - Natalia Sokolova (collection "Bamboo!"). For the collection of women's casual shoes, an environmentally friendly material of the 21st century was used - bamboo fiber. It is from him that the yarn is made, from which the shafts and the insoles are made.
Second place - Tatevik Nazaryan (collection "Geometry of the Future").
Third place - Elena Shlisere-Shlissele (collection "Urban mood").
All winners also received a certificate for participation in the international final of the LINEAPELLE competition in Bologna.
The right to be represented at the LINEAPELLE 2009 exhibition in Bologna is also granted to Luce Avetyan (Rubik's Cube collection) and Elizaveta Zhernovenkova (Open Air collection).
The Rubik's Cube collection is interesting for its architectural approach to shaping. Women's “boat” shoes are made of black patent leather with colored perforations on the heel, the heel is of a non-standard shape, men's low shoes of the “envelope” design are made of black patent leather.
The collection of accessories from environmentally friendly Open Air materials includes bags and shoes made from vegetable-tanned leather, textile-based corks, White Wet tanned leather and linen. The source of the collection was the music of the 70's and the style of minimalism. The collection was the first attempt by the author to draw attention to the topic of ecology and the search for alternative materials for production.

The main emphasis in the collection is made on decorative zippers. For the models were used split leather, patent leather, purple patent leather.
Boris Morozov and Boris Gevorgyan with the collection "Modern Cossacks".
Boots are made using side elastic bands. Special buttons allow you to turn boots into boots. A patch belt is sewn on the bootleg of a pair of boots, which is fastened with a buckle, and on the bootleg of the second is a patch pocket, which has a bow fold and fastens with a button. Models are made of genuine patent leather red and blue.
Alexey Salnikov and Ivan Nikolaev (collection "Bags in the style of" Vintage ").
The collection of accessories consists of bags and belts. They are made of saddlery yufti and split velor. The collection is united by a common form, the main way to connect parts using braiding. The decor is manual burning and accessories with the effect of old copper.
Grand Prix from Shoes Report magazine was received by Alexey Salnikov and Ivan Nikolaev.
Grand Prix from Step Magazine was awarded to Lucy Avetyan.
The Grand Prix of Roslegprom was awarded to Elena Koyusheva (Red Sun collection).
A certificate for shooting a documentary about young designers was awarded Lyusya Avetyan, Daria Bestuzheva, Tatevik Nazaryan, Elena Shlisere-Shlisele, Natalya Sokolova.
